You Cannot Solve A Problem From The Same Level of Consciousness It Was Created
The forever wise Albert Einstein said it best when he said, “You cannot solve a problem from the same level of consciousness it was created.”
Personally I choose to not view challenging situations as problems but rather an opportunity for change, enhancement, upgrade, transformation or expansion.
Nevertheless, however you choose to see a challenging situation, trying to bring a different and more serving outcome will not be possible, if you apply the same way of thinking and being that was used when the problem was created.
For instance, your partner said something or did something that negatively affected you. While most of us may retaliate or react by saying or doing something equally negative, in an attempt to allow the person to feel the same hurt and pain we felt, this does not solve the problem.
It is equally true for larger scale world issues, where leaders use this same approach to solve problems but instead of solving them, the situation is perpetuated and worsened in many instances.
Using anger to eliminate anger, hate to eliminate hate, violence to eliminate violence or ignorance to eliminate ignorance, will only give you more of the former. More anger, more hate, more violence, more ignorance. It’s really a simple math equation.
It is without a doubt challenging at times, to rise above a situation that causes us pain and hurt.
However, consciously choosing to keep a still tongue, or respond in love or recognize that hurt people, hurt people and not allow ourselves to fall victim to someone else’s unconsciousness reactions, will help to eliminate unwanted outcomes and maintain your peace of mind.
This week I encourage you to bring more awareness to your day to day situations.
Before reacting, ask yourself, if the situation truly deserves your energy. If your reaction will give you the outcome you desire. Or if another person or situation should determine how you feel or act.
And then respond.
